Sneaky Pete came to be after my contributing to an open source filesharing engine called GnucDNA. At the peak of the filesharing craze there were many programs that would allow you to share files across the internet. After most were sued out of existence, a few remained. Morpheus, which had a community of over 3 million altered it's filesharing scheme and joined the Gnutella network. Morpheus uses the GnucDNA engine for transferring files that are shared. Therefore, a small portion of that program was written by me and is used by millions of people around the world.

Having smaller aspirations, I chose to write my own filesharing program completely from scratch, (using my own file transfer engine) so that the average person could share files among thier friends only. In essence a closed filesharing community comprised of people who know each other and could be trusted. To add to the security of this application, I incorprated the encryption scheme called BlowFish. A rather strong and very difficult to crack encryption algorithim.

Although Sneaky Pete is not currently available for download, and I have not worked on it for almost two years. Every once in a while I do open it up and peruse the code and plan to make time for it in the coming year. As a work in progress, it may one day be available for download, but that day is far in the future.

Description

Sneaky Pete is a closed network filesharing tool to be used among known friends. Ecryption keys are used to allow connection to other nodes and file transfers. All communication between nodes are encrypted using the BlowFish algorithim. making it VERY difficult for anyone to know what is being transferred, thus making liability for sharing files of less than legitimate origins to be shared without fear of prosecution.
